For E-adoptions you will receive your certificate directly to your email address as soon as your order is finalised. For Adoption Packs please allow up to 10 business days after payment has been processed for Australian delivery, and up to four weeks for overseas delivery.

Koala adoptions last for 12 months. After 12 months we will email you with a reminder that your adoption period is ending and tell you how you can renew your adoption if you wish to do so.

You can choose to send an E-adoption certificate or Adoption Pack to your address or directly to the recipient.

At this stage we do not send out individual updates on koalas that are adopted. However, we do regularly post about our permanent resident koalas and temporary patients on our social media pages.

Yes, if you have adopted one of our permanent resident koalas. Port Macquarie Koala Hospital is open daily from 8:30am to 4pm, seven days a week (closed on Christmas Day).

Please advise of the email address used when the order was placed. If you have ordered an E-adoption please also check your junk/spam mail folder.

There is no limit to the number of people who can adopt a koala. Families, businesses, sports clubs etc. can all adopt the same koala.

Yes, you can adopt as many koalas as you wish.

Your adoption supports all koalas across our Hospital, including your adopted koala. It is challenging and expensive to administer support for your chosen koala alone, and this way you also get to support the koalas that do not receive as much adoption support.

Funds raised through our koala adoption program are used to provide support for all the koalas at Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. As well as providing the best possible home for our koalas, we also contribute to research and education programs around Australia; assisting with the conservation, breeding and conservation of koalas and their habitats.

A koala adoption lasts for 12 months and we are unable to change your adopted koala within this period. After your 12 month adoption period you can adopt your chosen koala again or change to one of our other koalas available for adoption.

Adoptions are tax deductible for Australian Tax Residents only.

A koala adoption lasts for 12 months and is not automatically renewed. Under our Refunds Policy we cannot give refunds for cancellations part way through the year.

No, your adoption is not automatically renewed. Approximately 3 weeks prior to the anniversary of your adoption you will be sent an email reminder that your adoption is due for renewal. It is your choice whether or not you renew your adoption.
